In  some developed countries, put the phones, personal computers, home office  equipment and so on. 
                Different  development levels countries have different connotation of consumer electronics.  Even in the same country, different development stages have different  connotations.  
                 
                In  development countries, consumer electronics refers to individual or household broadcasting,  television relevant audio and video products, including: TV, DVD machines (VCD,  SVCD, DVD), recorders, radios, cassette, combination audios, phonographs, CD  players (CD) etc. While in some developed countries, phones, PCs, family office  equipments, home electronic health  equipments, in-car electronic products are also grouped as consumer electronics. With the development of technology, new  products and new applications have emerged, so digital cameras, phones, PDA  etc. have also become emerging consumer electronics.  
                From late nineteen  nineties, information appliances combining three fields--computing, information and communication, began to  enter family lives. Having audio-visual, information processing, bidirectional  network communication functions, information appliances range from embedded processors,  related support hardware (eg display card, storage medium, IC card or credit read  equipment), embedded operating systemas and application layer package  composition. Generally speaking, they include all information appliances  products which are able to interact with network systems, such as PC, STB, HPC,  DVD, super VCD, wireless data communication equipments, video games equipments,  WEBTV etc. 
                 At present, audio, video and communication equipments are major  components of information appliances. In a long run, refrigerators, microwave ovens will also be  developed into information appliances and become intelligent ones.                  |
